Power management with no borders
Energy

Many global organisations want to establish their overall energy consumption levels
While power management suites have been around in various guises for many years, one of the main challenges faced by global organisations deploying them across multiple territories, is the lack of consistency between countries with respect to the fuel source they use to create energy.
Recognising this challenge Certero claims the latest version of its PC Power Management solution is better able to accurately establish energy consumption and associated costs across international locations, differing tariffs and variable PC wattage consumption rates.
PowerStudio 3.0 enables global organisations to define finely-tuned parameters specific to the local market characteristics of their business. By making it easier to identify and set local conversion factor C0₂ values specific to a territory, organisations can gather back information that more accurately reflects their global energy consumption levels. PowerStudio 3.0 simplifies this task dramatically with location-based tariff costs.
To further hone the precision of energy costs and usage rate information, PowerStudio 3.0 also features an information bank pre-populated with data about the energy consumption rates of the most popular business PCs. This enables organisations to refine the parameters of their energy consumption queries, according to the type and make of PCs used within those locations and in conjunction with local tariffs.
Flexibility and configurability are key when addressing the information needs of different report recipients. For instance, a Managing Director responsible for one territory, might only require information about energy consumption in his country; the company’s CEO however, might require further information detailing each operation’s energy costs and consumption levels across all territories. The reports are also useful for evaluating the success of initiatives taken to reduce energy consumption, and to establish and what – and where – measures need to be taken to reduce energy consumption or costs further.
John Lunt, Managing Director of Certero, said: “Many global organisations want to establish their overall energy consumption levels. But this is a challenge compounded by many variables which have to be taken into account if they are to extract any meaningful data about their energy costs and global C0₂ levels. PowerStudio 3.0 helps overcome these challenges, while its new reporting function enables the findings to be tailored according to the differing requirements of the various management teams within the business.”
