Coverity grooms a developing stable of thoroughbreds

The inaugural Coverity Exchange Event takes place on December 7th, at the Hilton at Heathrow airport’s swanky Terminal Four.

Software development company Coverity is celebrating record growth by inviting the cream of its partners in programming to share the secrets of their success. Coverity’s testing tools have turbo charged the development of business systems at companies across the world, from Switzerland to Swaziland, from CERN to Schneider Electric. Now it wants to being all the developers involved together, for an informal event at the Hilton in Heathrow, for a night of cross fertilisation.

Executives from Lloyds Banking Group, Draeger Medical, CERN, Schneider Electric, and Ipanema Technologies have promised to attend and ‘share best practices for development testing’. If you know what I mean.

Don’t be fooled by the sobriety of the title. I’ve been to these sort of events and I know how they turn out.

It  starts off pretty quietly, with everyone making small talk, eating peanuts and pretzels and feeling self conscious about the badge they’ve been asked to wear.

“Name: Kurt. Likes: Development Efficiency Hates: Bugs that just won’t shift”

But soon, as the coffee kicks in and business cards have been exchanged, the mood lifts and everyone starts to feel relaxed. These are your sort of people, putting the world to rights and telling it like it is in the IT department.

You’re relieved to discover that everyone, be they a customer or a developer, is just as keen as you to learn more about Coverity and development testing.

You’ve already cancelled your original plan to disappear after lunch. Dammit, you’re going to make full use of this all-day event – and the evening reception.

You’re only worry is that you didn’t bring enough business cards.

A doubt that’s confirmed when you see the list of attendees. There’s Coverity customers from every industry - finance, medical, physics research, manufacturing, and information technology. They’ll all have stories to tell about how they arrived at their best practices for development testing, improving software quality and development efficiency.

You can even get sneak previews of the Coverity product roadmap.

This is a great day for networking and gathering information, says Hugo Sluimer, Vice President of EMEA Operations at Coverity, “This day will offer real value to our attendees and their respective teams and companies.”
