French National Security Agency Opts for Coverity
by Martyn Jenkins
Coverity, Inc., today announced that the French national agency for IT systems security (ANSSI) has selected its software code static analysis solution, Coverity® Static Analysis.
ANSSI’s IT Services Inspections bureau will uses Coverity Static Analysis, to complement other solutions, for code audits.
ANSSI is the national authority for defence and security aspects of the IT systems. The inspections and audits realised by its IT Services Inspections bureau are conducted in order to give to the Prime Minister and other ministries an evaluation of the security level of the State’s IT systems.
Coverity's development testing products automatically test source code for software defects in a bid to prevent product crashes, unexpected behavior, security breaches, or catastrophic failure.
In 2006, Coverity began a collaboration with the US Department of Homeland Security. The Coverity Scan Initiative has identified almost 50,000 defects within more than 290 open source projects including Linux, Apache, PHP and Android, with over 15,000 defects fixed to date.
