SAS Group Helps SThree extends its global footprint

In the last six months we’ve put in circuit orders for Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Luxembourg and probably five more.

Recruitment firm SThree must be doing something right, because it’s expanding rapidly in a very challenging market. Keeping pace with that growth is tough, which is where SAS Group has proved invaluable

The growth achieved by recruitment company SThree would be impressive under any conditions – given the current labour market, its rate of expansion across continents is remarkable.

One of the reasons it has managed its growth so well is that it appointed the SAS Group, an international provider of managed network and professional services, to assume responsibility for some telecoms functions. SAS’s expertise in provisioning sites and relationship management services has been a key enabler for efficient expansion of the recruitment firm.

Since assuming responsibility in 2009 for provisioning sites on the company’s BT network, the SAS Group now takes charge of 46 sites on the estate, and a further five are planned for 2012.

“In the last six months we’ve put in circuit orders for Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Luxembourg and we’ve probably had to provision another five or more new offices because of relocations,” said Garry Lengthorn, manager of information technology at SThree. “Without SAS managing this process for us, we’d probably need two or three more people to do the admin.”

The SAS Group’s efficient provisioning and billing processes have saved around £400,000 in carrier service charges alone!

How can they save so much money? What was wrong before?

The single point of entry into BT is invaluable, explains Lengthorn. “With other IT companies, you’ll be given an account manager to talk to about issues but they’re not really interested because they want to talk to you about sales,” Lenghtorn says.

“SAA is dedicated to dealing with issues and helps us move forward with existing orders,” he says.

SThree now operates in 15 countries and its relationship with the SAS Group plays a pivotal role in its successful expansion.

“SAS helps us to be more efficient and more reliable in the delivery of new services to new offices,” says Lengtorn. “SAS understands how a carrier works and knows how to manage the hierarchy and the processes.”

“If we tried to do it ourselves, it wouldn’t be easy and would definitely cost more,” says Lenghtorn.
